calling all Whovians!

So here’s how it is. Doctor Who is the best television show of all time in the history of ever. I know, I know, such a bold statement. But I believe it to be true. Curt and I started watching Doctor Who last year and became hooked almost immediately. Let’s be honest, the British know how to do television right. Who’s with me on that one?

I decided to make some Doctor Who magnets. Aren’t they fantastic?! (said in Nine’s voice.)

Bottle caps. Check.

Doctor Who images. Check.

I went to my Doctor Who Pinterest board knowing that I had already pinned some really great images. I printed the images out onto photo paper. I don’t think regular printer paper would hold up well against the epoxy.

Put the image in the bottom of the bottle cap.

I made the mistake of putting a dab of glue to attach the images to the bottle caps.

Wrongo!

After I poured the epoxy into the bottle caps the images started to get discolored from the glue. DO NOT glue the images down! Just lay them in the bottom. As you can see from this picture, the ones I had glued are ruined. Blerg.

I mixed up the epoxy in a plastic cup and it worked great for pouring into the bottle caps.

About a minute after I poured the epoxy into the bottle caps air bubbles formed under the images.

Not to worry. I used a popsicle stick to push the paper to the bottom of the bottle cap and the air bubbles popped.

I let my bottle caps sit for a couple days to give the epoxy adequate time to dry. Then I attached magnets to the caps using hot glue.

I must admit, I’m a little crazy about these!

Any fellow Whovians reading this? Or just regular people who think I’m totally geeky?

Until next time….

Ok so I LOVE Downton Abbey & Sherlock Holmes, but I tried to watch Dr. Who 1st episode with the manequins and I wasn’t impressed. It felt way cheesy. Does it get better? Should I try another episode and keep going?

Hey Jennete! I, too, love Sherlock & Downton Abbey & I know exactly what you mean about the first episode. It is a bit cheesy. The first few episodes of season one I was just trying to figure out the show. I knew absolutely zero about Doctor Who. It does get better. Infinitely. I would suggest trying a few more, especially if you like sci-fi. There’s a 2 part episode in season one called the Empty Child, after that I was completely hooked. And like I said, I feel like they just get better & better. One of the reasons I love Doctor Who so much is because it has so many layers. If you watch more episodes I’d love to hear your thoughts. Stop by again!

Hello fellow Whovian! I’ve only watched the new Doctor Who, none of the old stuff, but I absolutely love all 3 doctors. Each for different reasons. I feel the same about The Doctors companions. Thanks for stopping by, it’d be great to see you again.
