dining room lighting

Lighting!

I {heart} lighting!

And I am a firm believer that you can never have too many lighting options. Never.

Here are the lights we have in our new dining room.

We have two of these Ottava lights hanging over our dining table. Oh so in love with them!

And this beauty is not a newbie here at Happy Looks Look On You. I posted a tutorial on this awesome chandelier last year, you can check it out here. I used to have a much smaller version hanging over the stairs, but changed it and decided this type of chandelier needed to be a little more grand. No tiny versions allowed.

I made each crepe paper strand crazy long. And let’s be honest, it looks fantastic!

It’s just sewn crepe paper on a planter basket!

Mad Hatter lamps (as I affectionately call them) are also not new, I’ve made a handful of these babies in the past year. You can check out a tutorial here. I even made a Halloween version that is to die for. My favorite thing about these lamps is that no two will ever be the same and the possibilities are endless!

It looks black in this picture, but it’s actually a dark gray with white and green apple.

After trying about a hundred different versions with many many pieces I finally landed on this one.

Here they are all painted and ready to assemble.

So check out this hideous lamp shade I snagged from the thrift store. And yes, that IS pleather. It got a strip and a paint job.

Sounds a little  risqué, doesn’t it?

I love love love skeleton shades!

My favorite part is this little mug finial.

I’m loving the lighting in the dining room and am so anxious to get the room completely finished!

Stay tuned!

Until next time….
