These wooden ornaments were such fun to make and I love how they turned out. They look perfect hanging on my tree with the himmeli ornaments.
I cut wooden blanks into pieces at random lengths.
I bought the wooden balls at Michael’s.
To start, I poked a hole in each wooden ball and blank using an awl. This will greatly help in getting the screw eyes into the wood.
Once you get the screw eye started, use the awl to finish screwing it into the ornament.
First I painted each ornament with white. I just free-handed it painting varying depths of white. Hint: a skewer suspended between two cups makes for a great drying rack. Once the paint was dry, I brushed on gold liquid leaf.
Using black & white bakers twine I hung them on my skinny little tree. Pretty great huh?
I had enough leftover to make this garland. I love how it looks with my chalk art from Caravan Shoppe.
Until next time….
