glitter eggs & birdie table

Today is a two for one post. Lucky you!

A couple weeks ago I nabbed this little table from the thrift store for 2 dolla. It was just plain wood, a little beat up and came with a glass top. After a quick coat of primer and white spray paint it was already looking more alive.

Remember this adorable birdie fabric from my quilt? Well I had some leftover and thought it perfect for the table top.

I brushed on a thick layer of Mod Podge (what else) on the top then lay the fabric over and smoothed it out. Then I flipped the table over and started securing the fabric underneath.

Another coat of Mod Podge over the fabric and Ta-Da!

A perfect little side table.

But it looks lonely……let’s see what we can do about that.

I have a thing for glass jars and vases and such. When I hit the thrift store I always buy some even when I have no project planned for them. They just patiently wait on shelves in my craft room. And of course when I say “craft room” I really mean project supplies bomb site. Seriously, I don’t know what happens in there, but I can’t keep it together. Please tell me that I’m not the only one who has this problem.            ……..Anyone?

I picked up this little beauty months ago and have been trying to incorporate it into the mix for awhile now.

Plastic eggs + glitter=

….dazzling glitter eggs that took me about 10 minute to make. Brush on a little glue then roll in the glitter. Easy peasy.

Then I just nestled them on a little bed of moss.

Now my little table isn’t lonely anymore.

I think these glitter eggs and birdie table were made for each other.

I’m pretty sure this little table will move around a lot in my house. And maybe, just maybe, when it warms up a bit more it might find its way to the patio.

“project supplies bomb site”…I’ve been laughing all morning as I think of that statement. We must be twins separated at birth. I love all your ideas. Thanks for the time you spend posting these. Did you cover the glitter eggs with mod podge or regular elmers glue? Thanks.
