Today’s christmas project is so easy and fun! It’d be a great activity to do with kids.
I’ve seen these glitter ornaments floating around the blogosphere and have been wanting to try them. They were so much fun to make, once I started I couldn’t stop. In fact, the only reason I quit was because I ran out of glitter. But not before I had a fabulous collection of sparkling ornaments!
Here’s what you need:
- clear glass ornaments (I got mine from Hobby Lobby)
- Pledge floor cleaner (weird, I know)
- glitter, glitter, glitter
- a few Q-Tips
- paper funnels (I just rolled up some printer paper for mine)
Take your glass ornament and pull the topper off.
Take your floor cleaner and…
…pour some into the glass ornament. Swirl it all around so it coats everywhere.
Take a Q-Tip and make sure you get inside the neck of the ornament.
Pour out all of the floor cleaner then, using a paper funnel, pour in your glitter. The really fine glitter works best. The bigger stuff is too heavy and doesn’t stick well.
Cover the top of the ornament with your finger then shake, shake, shake. Shake it around in all directions until the glitter coats all of the ornament.
Set the ornaments out to dry for a bit before you put the topper back on.
Once they’re dry, put the topper back on and now you have some spectacular glitter ornaments!
Aren’t they fantastic?!
The turquoise one is my favorite……no surprise there.
These make wonderful gifts, especially since you can customize the colors to fit personal styles.
Happy glitter-ing!
Until next time….
-Meg
