I got this idea from a classy group affectionately known as “The Billing Ladies,”… you know who you are.
Start with piles of three or four different sizes of hearts cut out of valentine paper. Make sure you have an even number of each size. If you have a Cri-cut machine this part is a snap. I opted for the grassroots trace-and-cut method, which took a bit longer.
Place two hearts of the same size together and, beginning at the point, sew a straight line to the part where the two bumps meet (is there a technical term for that?).
Once you reach the end, continue to sew off the paper and let the machine run until your thread “tail” is long enough to hang your heart.
Fold each heart in half, away from each other, along the sew line.
Hang anywhere you want. I hung mine at varying heights along the length of the half-wall separating the kitchen and living room.
Ta Da!
