So…….
Want to see what this is all about?
My latest halloween decor inspired by one of my favorite authors Edgar Allan Poe.
Let me start by saying I’m absolutely in love with these pillows! Perfect for me and my style!

I am a big fan of Edgar Allan Poe. I love his writing, especially his tales of mystery and the macabre. He and his writings seem to fit perfectly with this time of year.
Shall we get started?
These pillows are super easy to make. I already had 2 pillow forms that I wanted to use so I cut out my fabric to fit them. For the large pillow I cut one 18 in. x 18 in. piece. And for the small one I cut one 12 in. x 18 in. piece.
Here’s my piece of fabric for the smaller pillow.
I found my raven silhouette by doing a Google image search and the Poe silhouette came from Clker.com. I cut out both silhouettes onto heat transfer vinyl.
Place the image onto your fabric.
Cover the image with parchment paper so your iron doesn’t melt the vinyl.
Set your iron to the highest heat then press down 30-45 seconds over the entire image.
Once the image is ironed on, peel the plastic off while it’s still warm. If you peel the plastic off and realize there are a couple areas that need a little more ironing just lay the parchment paper over the vinyl to do a few touch ups. No problem.
And here is the raven!
Perfect!
Now for the back of the pillow. This is so easy. Seriously.
You’ll cut two pieces of fabric for each pillow. For the smaller one cut two 12 in. x 13 in. pieces. For the large pillow cut two 13 in. x 18 in. pieces.
Fold the edge over 1/4 in. and iron flat. Fold another 1/4 in. and iron again.
Sew your fold. Repeat this step twice for each pillow.
Once your folds are sewn, pin your two back pieces to your front piece, all right sides facing in.
Sew it all together, turn it right side out and you have some amazing pillows!
I really love black and white halloween decorations, this year especially, and these look perfect sitting on my couch. This project would look great with any silhouette image you wanted to use.
Thanks for stopping by!
Until next time…
-Meg
