Jar of Hearts

A couple of weeks ago I was listening to Christina Perri’s Jar of Hearts and thought to myself that a jar of hearts would be a cute valentine decoration. Shall we?

I used my trusty Cricut to cut out a handful of hearts. They need to be quite small; mine vary from 1 inch to 2 inch.

I took 10 hearts, poked a hole in the top, and tied them to varying lengths of thread. Make sure the thread isn’t too long so the hearts don’t touch the bottom of the jar.

Then I used tape to secure the threads to the bottom of the jar lid.

I put the rest of the hearts into the bottom of the mason jar.

Put the lid on and it’s done! I added some baker’s twine around the ring for the finishing touch.

My jar of hearts is on the piano next to my Love Me Tender print.

This is such a clever idea. I love the way that the hearts hang inside of the jar.
