Go ahead and take a minute to admire how stinking cute these candle votives are….
I’m totally crazy about them!
I got a Michael’s gift card for my birthday from some of my awesome family (wink wink, you know who you are) and, naturally, couldn’t wait to use it. I found a few rockin’ items for the mantel in the new dining room and this paper punch. It’s by….Martha Stewart. Ugh, it was tough to type that. Ok quick side note; I’m not crazy about Martha Stewart.
Take a moment to gasp in astonishment.
She’s rude to her guests, became even more popular after her time in prison (what’s that about?!) and seems like she needs to chill out about a thousand degrees. Yes, she has great products and ideas, but she has a whole staff that is the driving force behind all that.
I know, I’m sure I’ll be getting loads of hate mail for that one.
Ok, for all of you who haven’t left in protest, back to the paper punch. This little device is amazing!

The punch part comes off of the base so you can punch anywhere on the paper, not just around the edges.
How brilliant is that?!

I also picked up a couple of these babies from the thrift store. Then measured and cut a piece of paper to fit around each glass.
So pull off the top part of the punch, it’s held on by those little magnets at the corners.
Make the first punch and admire how awesome the design is.
Notice all the outlines of the design on the base? That makes it a cinch to get the design lined up for the next punch.
And when it’s all punched it looks like this!
I love the detail of the design.
I secured the paper around the glass cylinders using tape.
And just like that, two super cute votives are born!
I think they look even more incredible at night with the tea lights lit.
My new mantle is loving them as the latest addition and so am I!
Until next time….
