Wow! Am I excited for today’s post! Just a little weekend project I did on Saturday
…that I’m in love with!
Last week I hit the local thrift store and walked away with some treasures! Few things in life make me feel as amazing as finding hidden gems at the thrift store. May sound a little sad, but it’s true. And I feel no shame.
I have been trying to find the perfect little chandelier for months. Months.
And there it was. Just waiting for me.
I know it doesn’t look like much here, but it just needed a little love.
The weather was so perfect on Saturday I was able to paint on the patio instead of having to do it in the garage. Here’s the chandelier after I got it all cleaned up and ready to go.
Jada was even interested in what I was doing. I spy with my little eye….a cute white dog.
Taped up and ready for primer!
Krylon is the best spray paint to use, in my opinion. Dries quickly, nice even coating, and the big selling point for me is the easy touch nozzle. No trying to aim with your thumb.
It already looks better just with the primer.
After the first coat of red I was in love!
Here’s our adorable canine companions that were outside with me and very interested in what was going on.
(she was actually a little more interested in the frisbee. yes that white thing was once a functioning frisbee.)
Ok, ok, back to the project.
Here’s the old, ugly, horrible, repulsive light fixture that was in our foyer. It had a very boring frosted glass bowl as well, but it wasn’t worth putting it back on to take the picture.
And here is my Mr. Handyman! Also known as my wonderful husband Curtis.
Isn’t it the cutest little red chandelier you’ve ever seen?! I have been ogling it all weekend!
As you can see, my front door is turquoise. I love how the chandelier looks with the door!
I just couldn’t stop taking pictures!
The chandelier was $4.00. The primer and paint was $9.00. This little weekend project only cost me thirteen buckaroos!
And I am head over heels crazy about this little red chandelier!
