Sorry I have been absent for two whole weeks. Ugh. That’s terrible.
We were on vacation for a week then it took me all last week to get caught up with work, house, laundry, yard, etc. You know how it is.
Anywho, I’m back now and have got some great stuff to show you all. First up on the agenda today is a quick Music Monday. Any of you listen to The Gaslight Anthem? If not, add it to your list, they’re great. Well, front man Brian Fallon teamed up with his friend Ian Perkins to form The Horrible Crowes and they are fantastic! Truly. A perfect sound for fall. Do yourself a favor and go check them out immediately! If not sooner. You won’t regret it.
In other news…..
When last we met I revealed a sneak peek of coming attractions.
This halloween project is made with pages from an old book….
Ta-da!
My painted book page wreath!
Do you like?
I started with a wreath form and pages from a thrift store book, which I tore in half.
Take your pages and wrap them around a marker. (just like you use to do in elementary school with crepe paper.)
Put a dab of hot glue on the end then stick it on your wreath.
Hint: low temp glue gun works best because it doesn’t melt the styrofoam wreath.
Obviously I love using this technique. I’ve used it on 2 other projects; the million dollar lamp and my front porch summer wreath.
Just keep gluing on pages until your wreath is covered.
Once covered it will look like this.
I like this, but I wanted it to be a little more halloweeny.
So I pulled out the gray spray paint, like I did on the summer wreath, and started spraying until it was covered to my liking.
Add a little orange ribbon for hanging and my front door is ready for the season!
Remember this raven sneak peek?
I’ll be showing you what this is all about tomorrow. Come back and check it out.
Until next time….
-Meg
