Before our best friends, Paul and Alison, moved away one of our favorite things to do was have parties. Most of the time it was just the four of us, but boy, have we have some great parties. Some great, crazy and obscure parties.
For Christmas, Curt and I gave a subscription for the Party of the Month Club to Paul and Alison. It’s like the Jelly of the Month Club, but parties instead of jelly.
It’s the gift that keeps givin’ the whole year.
So every month Curt & I come up with a party idea and make a kit for Paul and Alison to have that party. Last month, we were lucky enough to hand deliver the party kit and celebrate together! And the theme was….
A Superhero Party!
This months kit included:
- photo props for some awesome pictures
- a game of Superheros vs. Villains (we wrote the names of superheros and villains on pieces of paper and had one minute to get our teammate to guess as many as they could….p.s. Alison and I won.)
- a playlist of superhero music to set the mood
- a superhero swag bag
- a variety of superhero movies to watch
The swag bag included: a superhero puzzle, superhero PEZ, superhero trading cards and kryptonite (Pop Rocks). All of which came from the dollar store.
This is Paul, Meg and Curtis enjoying the swag bag goodies.
The four of us with our finished puzzles.

It’s photo prop time!
I know there are websites that you can download and buy photo props, but I just drew my own on cardstock and cut them out.
We finished the night by watching Iron Man 2. The Superhero Party was a great success, we had so much fun.
All of you should plan a party to have this week. It doesn’t have to be grand or expensive. And don’t be afraid to just let loose, even if you find yourself creeping towards corny. I personally think that “corny” gets a bit of a bad rap. Or is it wrap? Wow, I honestly don’t know. Anywho, it has been programmed into us that corny is never good, but I disagree. Seems to me that in many cases corny usually equals a lot of fun. Have any of you ever noticed this?
Have a party this week, I dare ya!
Unti next time….
-Meg
