valentine hearts

I work with the absolute funnest ladies ever!

True story.

I enjoy going to work just to spend time with them. And before Alison (my blogging counterpart) moved away she worked with us too.

One time, Alison and I planned a little something for two of said ladies, let’s call them Nan and Barbara. It was a surprise so we just told them to save the date. Barbara picked up her calendar and wrote STD (Save The Date), then announced, “Alright, I’ve got an STD on May 3rd.” (or whatever the actual date was.)

Needless to say, we all laughed so hard we about fell out of our chairs!

And thus, the STDs were born. So now whenever we get together we call them STDs. We have to be careful though, we’ve had some awfully strange looks by people who overhear our conversations.

This past weekend we had an STD get together and made some crazy cute Valentine art. I know you’re all going to want to make one too. So gather all your girlfriends, get waaay more delicious food and snacks than you could possibly eat and have a lovely STD.

Things you will need for this awesome project:

- a frame (you can pick the size, mine was 16 x 20)

- old book pages

- scrapbook paper for the hearts

- heavy piece of cardstock or poster board the same size as your frame

- tape and/or glue

- scissors

Let’s get started!

Tear (or cut) out book pages.

Cut your poster board to fit the frame.

Tape or glue the book pages to the poster board.

I glued mine down randomly, but you can have them however you want.

Once all the pages are glued, cut out your hearts from the scrapbook paper. We cut out our own templates by hand. It wasn’t anything fancy or precise. Then tape or glue your hearts onto the book pages.

How easy is that?!

I love how they all turned out differently!

Thanks for stopping by!

Until next time….

-Meg

Hey Meg I just stumbled onto this post and even though its totally past valentines day I think I need to do this! I just love it! Some of my girl friends and I have 90s movie nights and drool over heart throbs like JTT and Mackuly Culkin and Elijah Wood even though we are all double their movie ages now so we call ourselves the Lady Pedofyle Society (with a y) I feel like they would be a great group to start having STD’s with :)
